Come quando accadrà
Natural phenomena are, in most cases, unpredictable. An illusory haphazardness which belongs to fascinating events like falling stars. Actually falling stars are not stars at all, but small rocky formations, residues of unknown planets which collide with Planet Earth, catching fire and resulting into the famous bright phenomenon. If in ancient times they were seen as a foreboding sign, for many generations now the most unmentionable secrets and wishes have been addressed to these bright trails. The artistic project Come quando accadrà refers to the strength of the wish as the drive for a change. The work is made of a led strip hung and anchored to the top of two opposite buildings along a city road or in a natural environment or, more generally, in the space between two supports located at a variable height. If, especially where there is light pollution, it is difficult to detect the light of falling stars, this work reproduces its speed and enhances its power by recreating the randomness of the fall at different and unexpected intervals. Come quando accadrà is a sort of atmospheric staging, which is not natural anymore but human, as human are the ambition, the dream, and the utopia. The goal is for the work to be seen as a natural phenomenon. And, therefore, with the surprise and unpredictability caused by the flash of light.
